I-4 Lane Closures, Traffic Delays in Orlando Metro Area Thru March 6

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-4 construction work in the Orlando Metro area through Thursday, March 6, 2025. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

I-4 to Exit 45A (Downtown East-West) New Traffic Pattern Begins January 27

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports that beginning Monday, January 27, motorists can expect a new traffic pattern for westbound I-4 to Exit 45A (Downtown East-West) in Tampa. The duration of this traffic pattern is anticipated for approximately six months, weather permitting.

I-4 Ramp from Sand Lake Road to Close January 30

The Florida Department of Transportation reports that motorists should be advised that the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) entrance ramp from Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R. 482) will be closed overnight on Thursday, January 30.

The ramp closure is scheduled to start as soon as 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, and is expected to reopen by 6:00 a.m. Friday morning, January 31. This closure is necessary to shift traffic onto the new westbound I-4 entrance ramp from Sand Lake Road.

I-4 Closures, Detours Scheduled Near S.R. 528 January 6-9

Motorists should be advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing overnight closures of I-4 at State Road 528 (Beachline Expressway) January 6-9.

Eastbound I-4 at S.R. 528 will be closed overnight January 6 and 7, and westbound I-4 from Exit 74B (Adventure Way) to Central Florida Parkway will be closed overnight January 8 and 9. The closures will begin as early as 10:00 p.m. and are expected to reopen by 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

I-4 Ramp from I-275 Closing, Detoured Nightly Beginning January 5

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports that temporary closures of the southbound I-275 ramp (Exit 45B) to eastbound I-4 will occur nightly on Sunday, January 5 through Wednesday, January 8 from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., weather permitting.

Motorists will have to detour around the work zone by continuing south on I-275, exiting the interstate using Exit 45A (Jefferson Street), keeping left at the fork toward Downtown East, turning left onto Scott Street, and re-entering the read more…

Florida DOT Suspends Construction Work for the Christmas and New Year’s Holiday

To help travelers get to their holiday destinations safely and efficiently, The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is suspending construction activities and opening all available lanes for the Christmas and New Year’s holiday.

Suspensions will be in effect from Monday, December 23, 2024 through Friday, January 3, 2025.

I-4 Ramp to U.S. 17-92 Closing Overnight December 8

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists that the eastbound I-4 exit ramp to U.S. 17-92, Exit 104, will be closed overnight on Sunday, December 8. The closure is scheduled to start as soon as 10:00 p.m. and is expected to reopen by 6:00 a.m. the following morning. This closure is necessary for striping work on the I-4 and U.S. 17-92 interchange improvement project.

Hurricane Milton Landfall Expected Late Tonight or Early Thursday Morning

Today, Governor Ron DeSantis provides the following updates on Hurricane Milton. 

As of 11:00 a.m. ET, Hurricane Milton is located about 190 miles southwest of Tampa, Florida with maximum sustained winds of 145 mph. Milton will move across the eastern Gulf of Mexico today, make landfall along the west-central coast of Florida late tonight or early Thursday morning, and move off the east coast of Florida over the western Atlantic Ocean Thursday afternoon.
